NATURELAND IS OPEN daily FROM 10am
The pets corner is always popular with both younger and older children, with its collection of tame domestic animals including Goats, Soay Sheep, Chickens, Turkeys, Rabbits and Guinea Pigs it’s a great opportunity for the kids to get involved.
The Goats and Sheep can be fed by our lovely visitors, with bags of food available for purchase from our Gift Shop (or the Entrance during the winter months). Watch out for Henry though, our big Goat, he will try and eat the bag off you if you’re not careful! He is is very greedy! The Koi Carp in our Koi Pool can also be fed, with food available for purchase from the feeding stations around the pool, in the summer months.
We also keep two species of Tortoise here at Natureland, the Spur-Thighed Tortoise and the Hermann’s Tortoise. They both originate from the countries around the Mediterranean and are now an endangered species.
Fred is our spur-thighed tortoise, and is over 50 years old!
Sheldon and Leonard are our Hermann’s Tortoises, and were born at Natureland in 2017. At the time of hatching, they were only the size of a 50p coin!
PLEASE NOTE: During the winter, our Tortoises and Rabbits move off public display into their warmer home during the cold months. They are usually back into their outdoor enclosure during the Spring!
